Together, Dr. Valeri and Dr. O'Connell bring decades of combined training, a deep commitment to their community, and a genuine love for what they do. Whether you're starting braces at age 7 or Invisalign at 45, you're in expert hands.
Both doctors grew up in Kenosha. Both chose to come back. That's not a coincidence — it's a commitment.
Meet Dr. Valeri
Kenosha-born.
Marquette-trained.
Community-driven.
Dr. Nick Valeri grew up right here in Kenosha — and he never left. He founded Valeri Orthodontics because he wanted to build something meaningful for the community that raised him.
A graduate of Tremper High School, Dr. Valeri was accepted into Marquette University's highly competitive Pre-Dental Scholars Program, where he graduated first in his class with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Marquette School of Dentistry, graduating magna cum laude in 2011, before completing a two-year orthodontic residency — also at Marquette.
Dr. Valeri stays at the forefront of orthodontics through ongoing continuing education, attending national conferences and studying current research. His clinical expertise spans metal braces, clear ceramic braces, Invisalign, Angel Aligners, 3D printing, and digital scanning — allowing him to deliver highly personalized care for every patient.
"A healthy, confident smile can have a powerful impact on a person's confidence, personality, and overall quality of life. That's why I do what I do — and why I do it here, in the community that raised me."
— Dr. Nick ValeriMeet Dr. O'Connell
Army veteran.
Board certified.
Back home.
Dr. Meghan O'Connell is a Kenosha native who served a decade as a military orthodontist — and then chose to come home to serve her community.
A University of Wisconsin graduate with degrees in biology and business, Dr. O'Connell earned her dental degree from Marquette University. During dental school, she joined the Army through a Health Professions Scholarship, becoming an officer and completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Fort Benning, GA.
She practiced dentistry at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and deployed to Iraq to provide care to soldiers. She then pursued her orthodontic residency at the University of Louisville, earning a Master's in Dentistry and a Certificate in Orthodontics. She continued her military service as an orthodontist at Joint Base San Antonio, specializing in severe malocclusions and mentoring orthodontic residents.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics — the highest credential in the specialty — Dr. O'Connell brings an extraordinary level of training and precision to every patient. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, Claire and Ethan, traveling, and cheering on Wisconsin sports.
"After a decade serving in the Army, I'm so excited to be back in Kenosha — the place I grew up — serving the community I love. Creating beautiful smiles for my neighbors is the greatest privilege."
— Dr. Meghan O'Connell
Giving back
Beyond the bracket.
Dr. Valeri and the Valeri Orthodontics team believe that caring for a community means more than straightening teeth. These programs are close to our hearts.
We provide complimentary orthodontic treatment for children who have battled cancer. Because every child who has fought that hard deserves to smile with confidence — and we're honored to help make that happen.
In partnership with Girl Scout troops across southeastern Wisconsin, we send Girl Scout Cookies to U.S. military members serving overseas. A small token of gratitude for those who sacrifice so much — inspired in part by Dr. O'Connell's own decade of military service.
We proudly sponsor local charities, youth athletic programs, school activities, and community events throughout Kenosha, Pleasant Prairie, Oak Creek, and surrounding southeastern Wisconsin communities.
Dr. Valeri founded this practice with a simple belief: that a great smile changes lives — and that a great orthodontic practice changes communities. Everything we do reflects that mission, from the way we treat patients to the programs we run.
